Registration

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING

The ride will average 30-35 kilometers per hour; riders should be able to maintain over 25 kilometers per hour on their own. If you get in over your head, don’t worry, there is a support vehicle that will pick you up; you can then decide to rejoin the ride at any point when you feel comfortable.

You will need:

1. A road bike. Your TT bike or cross bike with slicks is just fine. Your townie is probably not.

2. To be comfortable riding in groups on an open road. This isn’t an official race, but it is an open road and we do need people to have basic bicycle handling skills.

3. To stay off your aero-bars if you have them. Riding in a group like this makes access to your brakes critical; if you’re on your aero-bars the Ride Hosts may remind you to stay off them.

PORT RENFREW REST STOP

The optional rest stop/food stop in Port Renfrew will be open from 9:30am to 11:15am. If you’re not on track to make it to the stop in time you may be asked to hop in a support vehicle in order to get you back on schedule.

COWICHAN LAKE BBQ

The Cowichan Lake BBQ will go from 11am to 4pm—good food, good people, good times—.

TRANSPORTATION

There will be buses waiting in Cowichan Lake to take riders back to Oak Bay Bicycles Westshore after the post-ride barbecue. Alternatively, adventurous riders can take the opportunity to ride back to Victoria on their own.

Please specify your transportation needs when you register so that we know how many buses to have waiting.
